The following tools were products of research and series of learning exchanges with leading companies in the Philippines. These provide a road map for managers to develop and sustain strategic and effective CC program

Five elements are used as indicators of an effective and strategic CC program in this self-assessment tool:

1. Leadership
  Business leaders have a central role in championing and putting into practice the principles of CC.

2. Policy
  Written policy statements define company’s behavior and guide the internal decision-making process.

3. Program Development
  Programs that address social, economic and environmental concerns of business and its stakeholders are concrete manifestations of the companies’ commitment to CC.

4. System Installation
  Putting in place appropriate management systems and procedures support the implementation and institutionalization of CC agenda in the company.

5. Measurement and Reporting
  Investors, NGOs communities and the government challenge companies to report CC initiatives and support claims with clear and verifiable measures.

The framework illustrates the factors that drive business to invest in CC programs and initiatives classified according to three bottomlines: financial, social and environmental.
