What is Corporate Citizenship?

Corporate Citizenship (CC) is a business principle and practice that delivers business’ long-term interests alongside the development of communities, the protection and sustainability of the environment, and the improvement of the people’s quality of life.

Any corporate citizen is called as such when it contributes to the society’s well-being through its:

Best practices in internal management.
Strategic provision of resources for social development, and
Partnership with non-business publics and communities.

PBSP’s Center for Corporate Citizenship

PBSP established the Center for Corporate Citizenship (CCC) in 1991 to fulfill its vision of animating and enabling companies to practice CC.

CCC’s vision is to see a business community that is fully and actively committed to making strategic contributions to the development of society, sustainability of the environment and the improvement of the quality of life of the Filipino poor.

CCC tests, evaluates, documents and promotes leading-edge practices on the following CC areas or themes:

Social Investment
Corporate-Community Partnership
Managing workplace Concerns
Environmental Stewardship

“These plans… will not in and of themselves achieve the results we hope for. PBSP can only succeed with the undiminished support and consistent commitment of member companies. We need them to stand firm—to remain active and patient—because it is precisely in challenging periods such as these that society needs the most support.”

Manuel V. Pangilinan PBSP Chair, President and CEO, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company
