Agricultural Extensions Skills Development Training

I. Description

     This three-day training course was designed for agricultural extension workers and/or agricultural instructors. This training course aims to equip the participants with technical knowledge on agriculture concepts such as BUKHAY (Bukid ng Buhay) Integrated Farming Systems Models, vermicomposting, and vegetable production; and equip them with the appropriate skills for effective technology transfer using participatory development communication and popular educational communication.

Vermicomposting

The course highlights the production of organic fertilizer through the action of earthworms (vermin). In vermicomposting, farm wastes (i.e. plant residues and animal manure) are being utilized to produce compost with relatively high nutrient content readily available for plant growth.
