| The Task: | |
Works with project staff and partner organizations to formulate, implement and monitor work plans to improve the policy environment for TB DOTS implementation in close coordination with the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP), The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Local Government Units (LGUs), other USAID projects, and other partner organizations to ensure an effective and collaborative implementation of all activities related to the fight against tuberculosis in the Philippines. Specific activities include helping PhilHealth develop and implement policies and procedures which will eventually lead to the financial sustainability of high quality DOTS service providers. Considerable effort will also focus in ensuring that the indigent population has access to TB services. |

| The Requirements: | |
Interested applicants must hold an advanced degree in Management, Economics, or any related field. He/she must have at least 5 years of experience working in the health sector in all or a combination of the following areas: TB, Infectious diseases including AI (Avian Influenza), policy development, health finance, decentralized public system. Experience in managing similar programs and working with the private and public sectors in the Philippines is an advantage. He/she must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interface with government officials and international donors. Experience working with USAID and other donors preferred. He/she must be computer literate. |

Works towards project objectives by assisting the public and private sectors to ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality anti-Tuberculosis drugs to DOTS clinics, improve the regulation of drug quality, and improve utilization of anti-TB drugs. He/she will work with the public sector to strengthen its capacity to improve and maintain an efficient TB drug management system. He/she will work in coordination with the Strengthening System team as well as the project regional staff. |

| The Requirements: | |
Interested applicants must hold a degree in Management or any related field. He/she must have at least 5 years of experience working in a position responsible for large-scale pharmaceutical distribution systems. Experience as a consultant in logistics system is an advantage. It is preferred that he/she must have had demonstrated familiarity in procurement, storage and distribution systems for pharmaceuticals, capacity to design and implement systems and projects; must have had demonstrated managerial and supervisory capacities, as well. Working with the private and public sectors in the Philippines is an advantage. Knowledge of the structure and functioning of the Philippine government and Directorate of Health is considered an asset. He/she must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interface with government officials and international donors. He/she must possess ample knowledge in MS Applications i.e. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of other software for managing logistics is considered an asset. |
