GIL T. SALAZAR
Executive Director
Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP)
Gil T. Salazar is
the Executive Director of the Philippine Business for Social Progress
(PBSP) since 2001. The first of its kind in Asia, PBSP is a
corporate-led social development foundation with more than 200 member
corporations. PBSP is the arm of its members in providing organized
and professional development assistance to disadvantaged sectors in
the Philippines.
He is responsible for
overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Foundation that for the
past 3 years has an annual programming of close to P 500 million. A
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), he was once PBSP’s Director of
Finance and Management Services, where he organized PBSP’s Internal
Audit Unit in the early 90s, the first non-profit to have one in the
Philippines. As Director of Special Programs, he was heavily
involved in designing PBSP’s Small and Medium Enterprise Credit
Program, a wholesale lending program for small and medium enterprises
(the program is funded by a $13 million grant from USAID and DM 21.5
million loan from KfW of Germany-another first for the non-profit
sector in the Philippines). Under the PBSP Management Development
Program and through a scholarship from Ford Foundation, he earned his
Master in Development Management from the Asian Institute of
Management (AIM).
He serves on the board of
various non-profit organizations in the Philippines involved in
development work. He is currently the Vice-Chairman of the
Philippine Development Assistance Programme (PDAP); the civil society
sector representative in the Philippine Competitiveness Council; and,
member of the Board of the Upland Marketing Foundation, Inc. and the
Soriano Eco Fiber Corp., a social enterprise. He served as Treasurer
of the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO), the largest
aggrupation of NGO networks in the Philippines, and the Philippine
Council for NGO Certification (PCNC). He also served as a member of
the Leadership Group of United Way International’s Global Standards
for United Ways initiative, representing the Asia-Pacific. |
RAMON
EMMANUEL DERIGE
Deputy Executive Director
Mon is the Deputy Executive Director of PBSP. He started working
for PBSP in 1988. Program development, monitoring and evaluation
remain his forte having spent most of his PBSP career with
the Operations Group. He is also adept in operations management
and supervision particularly in the regions ensuring attainment
of project targets and reach.
He also specializes in resource mobilization, maintains donor
relations and oversees solicitation of pledges and contributions
of PBSP’s member companies and CSR partners.He finished
his BS in Agriculture degree in the University of the Philippines
(Los Baños) and received his Master in Social Science
in Development Administration from the University of Birmingham
in the United Kingdom.
He is currently affiliated with Upland NGO Assistance Committee
(UNAC) as its Chairperson and Executive Officer. He is also
the Chairperson of Upland Marketing Foundation, Inc. (UMFI)
and a member of the International Program Committee of the
Council on Foundations. |
PATRICIA
GRACE CORPUS-CALILONG
Associate Director
Patty is PBSP’s Associate Director for Finance and Management
Services, MIS and Small and Medium Enterprise Credit (SMEC).
She started working for PBSP in 1991 and specializes in financial
and credit analysis; micro, small and medium enterprise financing;
small business consulting and development and management of
enterprise support projects. She graduated from Ateneo de
Manila University with an AB Psychology degree.
She is currently affiliated with Small and Medium Enterprise
Development (SMED) Council as a Finance Committee member.
She is also a member of the International Council for Small
Business. |
