Visayas Regional Operations
PBSP believes that in its
work against poverty, it has to be close to where the problem
lies: the provinces.
Regionalization or decentralization
was a move to replicate PBSP’s success in governance
in a regional scale and tapping on the benefits of having
region-based companies that are familiar with the local
demographics and culture. In October 1987, the Visayas Regional
Operations was established.
It was clear that through its
regional operations, greater impact will be seen in the
communities.
