Asalus Corporation (Intellicare) in partnership with Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) turned over its medical tools and equipment donations to the birthing clinic of the National Children's Hospital (NCH).
This is Intellicare’s first equipment donation for a birthing clinic consisting of obstetric delivery tables, suction apparatus, digital fetal dopplers, bassinet/cribs, and other medical tools and equipment necessary for delivery of newborns. These donations will allow NCH to offer labor and birthing services in addition to its neonatal and prenatal pediatrics care. Additionally, NCH has been aiming for the highest level of accreditation for their Residency Training Program in Pediatrics, but they lacked one requirement, a fully equipped Birthing Unit.
“The turnover of these equipment is another testament of the generosity of the Filipino and the resilience, and the heart. It is really reflective of how the Filipinos feel toward each other. They can take roads per borders. They do anything in order to give back to others. Thank you to Intellicare and PBSP for making our dream a reality,” said Dr. Moriel DJ Creencia, MD, FPPS, MHA, Medical Center Chief II, NCH.
The initiative is part of Intellicare’s support to PBSP’s Safe Motherhood Program dubbed as “Babae: Malusog. Ligtas. Handa,” which aims to educate women of reproductive age (WRAs) on life-saving maternal and child health information such as pre- and post-natal consultations, facility-based delivery, exclusive breastfeeding, responsible parenthood, and family planning.
For the past eight years, Intellicare has been a constant partner and supporter of PBSP’s platforms for health, education, the environment, and disaster response. As a PBSP member, Intellicare has also been an active partner to various initiatives assisting the frontliners, medical institutions, local governments, and communities during the pandemic.
Executives and staff of Intellicare and PBSP also conducted gift-giving to patients in the cancer ward of NCH after the turnover ceremonies.
