From knowledge-sharing to practical tools like the Luto ni MaMa recipe book, these assemblies empower our MaMas to give their children the healthiest possible start, one nourishing meal at a time.

Across Don Salvador Benedicto, Arteche, and Mabuhay, our MaMa families gathered once again for the 3rd Quarterly Assemblies of the Masiglang Kamusmusan Phase of the MaMa First 1000 Days Program. These assemblies enable mothers to continue to learn, connect, and strengthen their commitment to raising healthy, thriving children. Like the first two quarterly assemblies, children went through routine anthropometric measurements while their mothers attended wellness counseling and mother's classes, where they learn valuable information such as the importance of immunization and providing first aid.
This quarter highlights the distribution of the PBSP-developed Luto ni MaMa First 1000 Days Recipe Book. Packed with recipes that are "mura, masustansya, at masarap" (affordable, nutritious, and delicious) plus helpful nutritional tidbits, this book is designed to guide mothers in preparing meals that support their children’s growth and development during the crucial first 1000 days of life.

The MaMa First 1000 Days Program is one of PBSP’s flagship NextGen Initiatives, a series of transformative programs addressing core challenges in health, education, environment, and livelihood. This ambitious 36-month program provides maternal and child care support through free antenatal tests, multiple micronutrient supplementation, nutrition education, complementary feeding, and sustainability mechanisms, collectively aiming to secure every child’s normal nutritional status during the first 1000 days of life.

With the theme “Grounding, Visioning, and Commitment-Setting for a Responsive Provincial Nutrition System,” the session strengthened local leadership in addressing malnutrition through data, evidence-based approaches, and multi-sector collaboration.
