Carry the torch!
In the project closeout ceremony for the Women's Rights, Action and Advocacy Project, PBSP and Global Affairs Canada recognized 73 partner Women's Rights Organizations and Women's Rights Networks for their dedication and contribution to the advancement of women's rights in the Philippines.
Through their collective efforts, more than 20,000 women and girls have been reached, with the number expected to rise as we continue to gather stories of change in the coming months.
Though the event marked the end of project activities, it was also an opportunity for all partners to renew their commitment to continue initiatives addressing governance and policy reform; sexual and reproductive health rights; gender-based violence; violence against women and girls; access to development resources and benefits; and organizational capacity building.
In her keynote speech, Mardi Mapa-Suplido, Chief Operating Officer of Aboitiz Foundation, encouraged the attendees to reflect on their WRAAP journey, carry the torch, and use their voice to advocate for women empowerment and gender equality.
PBSP stands in solidarity with Women and Everyone in working towards a just and inclusive future for all.
