PBSP has taken a more active role in supporting the implementation of RA 9003 or the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Act of 2000.
Through information dissemination to create awareness among households of the importance on waste segregation at source, incentivizing consumers and community waste collectors as they engage in the waste collection value chain, capacitating the barangays to enhance their SWM efforts, and helping strengthen the local recycling industry.
PBSP is committed to lead the business sector in honing communities on environment stewardship, promoting a circular economy, and enhanced adaptability to climate change effects.
Since 2006, the Motolite-PBSP Balik Baterya Program has ensured proper recycling of 11,035 tons of used lead-acid batteries from 200 companies and part of the funds were used to complete at least 181 community projects nationwide.
