San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corporation (SMYPC), Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and Oriental Motolite and Marketing Corporation (OMMC) recently renewed their Balik Baterya partnership.
Since 2010, SMYPC has completed 13 projects that supported 9 public elementary schools nationwide.

Launched in 2006, the Balik Baterya Program is Motolite’s flagship CSR initiative advocating for the proper disposal and legitimate recycling of used lead-acid batteries (ULABs) to protect the environment from hazardous wastes. The collected used batteries are reprocessed and recycled for commercial use. With its partnership with PBSP, the proceeds from the used batteries have funded 176 projects on health, education, environment and livelihood projects, including disaster and COVID19 response efforts.
