PBSP convened 22 companies in a forum entitled, Chasing Green: Renewable Energy and Water Savings at Citadines Millennium Ortigas in Pasig City. PBSP invited the Department of Energy Philippines (DOE), Asia Engine for Net Zero (AENZ), and Maynilad Water Services to discuss strategies for renewable energy adoption and water savings.

In his opening remarks, PBSP Executive Director Elvin Ivan Y. Uy highlighted PBSP’s initiatives in Water and Energy. Since 2015, it has served as secretariat to the Water Alliance, a multisectoral platform established by business leaders committed to contributing to water security in the country.

DOE Senior Research Specialist King Anthony Ting introduced consumer-based renewable energy programs such as Net Metering, the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), and the Expanded Roof-Mounted Solar Program.

AENZ Clean Energy Lead Adrian Roy Pasion emphasized that Energy Efficiency is the crucial first step in decarbonization, while shifting to Renewable Energy is the primary pathway to cut emissions from purchased electricity. He noted that enrolling in GEOP can deliver up to 87% lower emissions and 29% savings on electricity costs.

Engr. David Andrew Fernandez, Maynilad Non-Revenue Water Senior Manager, addressed the challenge of water scarcity, stressing that effective water management leads to efficiency and ultimately, to water security.

In her closing remarks, Kristine Rivadelo, PBSP Director for Operations, reiterated the organization's continuous support to its members and partners in their sustainability journey.
