Iloilo hosts 9th PHE Conference

The Population, Health, and Environment (PHE) Network convened last October 25 to 26 in Iloilo City for the 9th PHE Conference.

The PHE Network is composed of a diverse group of thought leaders who operationalize its mission of advancing innovative approaches as feasible platforms that can be used for undertaking collective action of organizations supporting our vision.

With the theme “From Crisis to Opportunity: Re-Engineering the PHE Approach for Resilience and Economic Growth in the New Normal”, the recently concluded conference aims to identify the best conditions for scaling up of integrated PHE strategies to maximize the gains of demographic dividend/transition among the most vulnerable sectors of society using resources from public and private partnerships for investments in child health, education, gender equality, etc. at the national and local levels.

The conference included expert-led plenary and parallel sessions designed to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills for addressing development concerns through integrated methods.

For the past four years, PBSP has served as convenor. PATH Foundation Philippines is the network's next convenor until 2025.
