KTP was launched on July 17, 2024, with the goal of aligning its advocacy with government initiatives while also inviting and inspiring other stakeholders to join the movement in achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger.
Held during the National Nutrition Month Celebration, the event was attended by the private and government sector representatives led by PLDT Chairman and CEO and KTP Chair, Manuel V Pangilinan; Department of Social Welfare and Development - DSWD and Task Force Zero Hunger Chair, Secretary Rex Gatchalian; World Bank Philippines Senior Country Officer, Dr. Clarissa David; Galing Pook Foundation Chair, Mr. Mel Sarmiento; Senior Vice President of Wireless Consumer Individual at Smart Communications, Inc., Ms. Kristine Go; President & CEO of Shell Philippines, Ms. Lorelie Quiambao-Osial; Chairman of the Makati Business Club, Mr. Edgar Chua; Chairman of the Zuellig Family Foundation, Mr. Ernie Garilao; PBSP Vice-Chairman Mr. Manolito Tayag; and PBSP Executive Director, Mr. Elvin Ivan Y. Uy.
A panel discussion on nutrition, food security, and enabling interventions moderated by Galing Pook Foundation Executive Director, Ms. Georgina Hernandez-Yang, was also held to give a platform to share aspirational, replicable, and scalable models implemented by representatives of the business sector, development sector, and the local government. Mayor Divina Fontanilla of Bacnotan, La Union; Mr. John Echauz, Chairman of SUN Business Network; Mr. Austere Panadero, President of Zuellig Family Foundation; and Kagawad Raymart Garcia of Brgy. Commonwealth all contributed to the conversation.
