Four schools in Cebu province receive rainwater harvesting systems from Nalco and PBSP
PBSP turned over the Nalco Rainwater Harvesting Project to four recipient schools in Barangay Liloan in the province of Cebu, namely Lataban Elementary School, Tabla Elementary School, Ernesto Veloso Elementary School, and San Roque Elementary School.
This project funded by Ecolab and Nalco Water an Ecolab company, in partnership with PBSP installed water reservoirs connected to a piping system that will collect rainwater from the roofs of the classrooms. These reservoirs will provide free water for toilet flushing, watering of plants, and school cleaning activities. It will also be an alternative source of water for the handwashing facilities that were previously donated by Nalco Water.
To complement the hygiene and sanitation initiative and protection against COVID-19, Ecolab and Nalco Water also brought 15 boxes of hand sanitizers that will be distributed to the project recipient schools.
The event gathered leaders from the business sector, civil society organizations, and government agencies to reflect on the progress made in water security through private sector initiatives at the headquarters of Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc., on August 22, 2024.
