MDFI and PBSP started Operation Pa-Tubig in 2001, to provide safe and easy access to clean water in marginalized, waterless communities in the Philippines.
Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc. (MDFI) through its Operation Pa-Tubig project, in partnership with Philippine Business for Social Progress(PBSP) turned over three potable water system projects to the T’Boli community in South Cotabato, farmers association in Barangay Dominga, Davao City, and the Sumilao Tribe in Sitio Kilaug, Sumilao, Bukidnon.
These water system projects turnover mark the 32nd, 3334t water systems completed through MDFI’sOperation Pa-Tubig. With at least 40 tap stands installed in strategic areas inthese communities, these water system projects will provide clean and safewater to 370 households. The project will also cater to the water needs of studentsand teachers in schools.
PBSP team also conducted water maintenance workshops to ensure the sustainability and safety of the water system.
