With the theme, “Implementing Inclusive Business Models in Coconut,” the Midterm Conference served as a platform for promoting and discussing the Project’s achievements and innovations towards revitalizing the industry and sustaining inclusive growth in Philippine agriculture– especially in Coconut.

Industry stakeholders, project consortium representatives, and government partners gathered for the Midterm Conference of the More with Less in the Philippine Coconut Industry (MwL) Project on November 21, 2025, at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City. With the theme, “Implementing Inclusive Business Models in Coconut,” the Midterm Conference served as a platform for promoting and discussing the Project’s achievements and innovations towards revitalizing the industry and sustaining inclusive growth in Philippine agriculture– especially in Coconut.
Department of Agriculture and the Philippine Coconut Authority, among other initiatives mentioned in the keynote address of PCA Administrator Dexter R. Buted.

Mr. Peter Dalberg, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Denmark in the Philippines, underscored international support for improving farmer productivity and engaging in green enterprises, while Mr. Christian Eyde Moeller, Co-founder and CEO of Lionheart Farms Philippines, presented the Lionheart coco sap or tuba business model that links farmers to the global market.
Mr. Moeller also joined PBSP MwL Project Manager Nelson B. Aquino, PCA Palawan Senior Agriculturist Arlo G. Solano, BaiAni Foundation Executive Director Arnel M. Astillero, and Rizal Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (RFMPC) General Manager Mary Grace N. Oblian in a panel discussion on piloting inclusive business models under the project. The panel highlighted key opportunities in establishing nurseries and breeding gardens to support MCPP, expanding young and mature coconut trading, and advancing biochar production and marketing.

Partner farmers from RFMPC, Galup Tribal and Non-tribal Multipurpose Cooperative (GMPC), Mt. View Agri Home Agriculture Cooperative, and Rizal Farmers’ Cooperative (RIZFACO), and representatives from DA, Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), and Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) also attended the event.
MwL is supported by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) through their Danida Market Development Partnerships (DMDP) program and implemented by PBSP with Lionheart Farms Philippines Corporation, BaiAni Foundation, and PCA.
